Quarter 1 Project:

ROBBER BARON OR CAPTAIN OF INDUSTRY?

Purpose: the purpose of this project is for students to develop a better appreciation of the Industrial Age and the influence that it had on society. Also, this project will show how individuals today are having the same impact on society as those during the Gilded Age.

Description of the project:  Each student will have the opportunity to research one Captain of Industry or Robber Baron during the 19th Century.  A list of Captains of Industry or Robber Barons is provided below and students are allowed to choose their person of interest. There will be a limit of “3” students per Robber Baron and will be based on a “first come-first serve” basis. Once “3” students have selected a particular Robber Baron, that person will be removed from consideration.
